Sofie’s Instant Alerts feature keeps you informed about important security-related updates directly in Microsoft Teams or Slack. Whether it is a critical security incident, a new cyber threat, an upcoming phishing simulation, or a policy update, Instant Alerts ensures you stay up to date with timely, relevant information.
How do Instant Alerts work?
When your security team sends an alert, you will receive a real-time message from Sofie in Microsoft Teams or Slack. These alerts provide concise, actionable security updates in an easy-to-read format.
What kind of alerts might I receive?
Here are examples of the types of updates you might receive via Sofie:
- Urgent Security Warnings
Phishing attacks, critical vulnerabilities, or incidents that require immediate attention. - Cyber Threat Awareness
Emerging attack techniques, new risks, or reminders to adopt better security practices. - Simulation & Training Notifications
Reminders about upcoming phishing simulations, training deadlines, or assignments. - Policy & Compliance Reminders
Notices about new or updated policies, audits, or required acknowledgments. - General IT & Organizational Updates
Important non-security communications like system migrations, service disruptions, or internal process changes.
How to engage with an alert?
- Read the alert carefully
Instant Alerts messages are intentionally brief and structured for clarity. - Acknowledge the message
All alerts include emoji-based reactions to quickly confirm receipt (e.g., 👍 Helpful, 🤔 Not Sure) and give (anonymized!) feedback. - Take any required action
If the alert includes a task - such as reviewing a document, completing training, or reporting an issue - follow the instructions provided in the message.
Where will I see alerts?
Alerts are sent through the platform where Sofie is active for your organization. If Sofie is installed in both Microsoft Teams and Slack, alerts will appear in whichever platform you use.
Why am I receiving these alerts?
Instant Alerts ensure that employees are kept up to date on critical security and operational topics. By staying engaged with these alerts, you play a direct role in helping to maintain a secure and informed workplace.
If you ever have questions about a message or believe something was sent in error, reach out to your security or IT team for clarification.
